Mary Sandra "Sandy" Main
and Her Four Children

Mary married Francis Matthew "Frank" Weaver in 1959, with whom she had four children: Matthew (1960), Thomas (1960), Katherine (1962), and Tammy (1965). After Frank's tour in the U.S. Air Force, which began at Eglin Air Force Base and ended at Mountain Home Air Force Base, they settled in Boise, Idaho.

Upon divorcing Frank, Mary then married Robert G.H. "Bob" Farnsworth and became known by family and friends as Sandy. She lived in McCall, Idaho, from the early 1970s into the 1980s. She divorced Robert and then married Darrell Robert Main in 1981. Besides living in McCall, Idaho, they also lived in Ogden, Utah, Ridgecrest, California, Yuma, Arizona, and then, until her death, in Glenns Ferry, Idaho.

She is preceded in death by her first and second husbands. Sandy's third husband, Darrell Main, is alive and can be found, since 1990, in Idaho's entry on the National Sex Offender Registry.

Mary is survived by her four birth children, Matthew, Thomas, Katherine, and Tammy, plus more than half a dozen step-children and numerous grandchildren.

Mary reportedly died of a fall and was cremated a mere three days later at the direction and reported insistence of Darrell Main despite multiple requests by her birth children to have the opportunity to pay their respects first. It is our understanding that the Main family, who refuses contact with Mary's birth children, intends to intern her at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery in Boise presuming Darrell Main is not disqualified as a felon sex offender.

In memoriam, please donate to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) or a similar national or local anti-sexual violence organization.

Memories

  • First memory? Probably not the first, probably not 'happy', but some of us getting muddy riding bicycles or tricycles or just jumping in puddles while dressed and waiting to go to church.

  • Walking to a neighboring garden center to buy Mother's Day flowers.

  • Picking berries, mushrooms, asparagus, strawberries, and whatever else was in season.

  • Going fishing seemingly every day or weekend.

  • Getting a yardstick broke over me for something.

  • Going on a weekly trip to a dairy south of McCall for gallons of raw milk.

  • Going on trips from McCall to Boise where we had a family tradition of going to a Chinese restaurant where we learned to eat with chopsticks.

  • Calling mom at what always turned out to be in the middle of the night when I was overseas in the US Navy.

  • Last memory? Mom attended my college graduation.
